Since the inception of Austin Monthly and Texas Music Magazine’s Front Porch Sessions virtual concert series in June, we’ve produced the live music showcase featuring notable acts such as Shakey Graves, Ben Kweller, Band of Heathens and many others.
Last month, Austin Chronicle named Front Porch Sessions as the 2021 Arts and Entertainment Wild Card winner in their annual “Best Of” competition. The music live stream won based on reader votes.
“Love how they’ve pivoted the live performances to virtual and gotten local breweries/distilleries involved with each new show,” reader Erin Ashworth said.
Tomar & the FCs and Graham Wilkinson were our most recent live-streamed shows. Tomar plays the keyboard, and Graham sings and plays guitar, with their respective bands accompanying.
The productions for Front Porch Sessions have featured multiple cameras, front-of-house and back-of-house sound engineers, lighting technicians and a live stream producer. Each concert is broadcast live to Austin Monthly’s YouTube channel and Facebook page, and it’s cross-posted to 3rd & Lamar Media’s Facebook page.
“The sky’s the limit in the digital broadcast space right now,” 3rd & Lamar Co-Founder and Head of Production Tony Stolfa said. “Day-by-day the tools are becoming more dynamic and simpler to operate, so this is creating a lot of room for creativity and UX innovation.”
In addition to Front Porch Sessions, we partnered with Austin Monthly to produce their annual Bands To Watch live stream March 20 featuring Deezie Brown, Sir Woman, Beat Root Revival, and Jackie Venson.
As the exclusive live and on-demand production partner for Open Sky Media, the parent company of Austin Monthly, San Antonio Magazine, Texas Music Magazine, and Austin Home, we’ll be producing additional Front Porch Sessions shows and much more.
Next up, we are live streaming a show in Austin on June 12 featuring Chubby Knuckle Choir, sponsored by Perry Homes.
