Favorite quote? “Make fear a tailwind instead of a headwind.” – Jimmy Iovine

Hometown? I was raised in the swamps of Southeast Texas, but Austin has been my home for over 10 years.
What inspired you to fight in MMA events? I always wanted to train in martial arts as a kid and didn’t get the opportunity. I began training MMA in my early 20s, and I was hooked from the start. I chose to compete in my first cage match to challenge myself against a skilled stranger as a way to understand myself and how I manage my emotions when the stakes are at their highest. Getting punched in the face will do wonders for that!

Hometown? I have lived all over (9 cities and counting), so I don’t have one. But I consider Houston and Chicago my home cities.
Best investment you’ve ever made? My camera. It changed the way I see the world. When I have my camera with me, I am looking constantly for all the beautiful, interesting things around me, so I’m always seeing them.

Favorite band? The best band on the planet is Depeche Mode.
How do you relax? I have a terrible time actually relaxing, but to decompress, I go anywhere there’s a goth (of any flavor) or 80s night.
Best investment you’ve ever made? The best investment I’ve ever made is a nice espresso machine and grinder—my savior, my joy, my life force.
