3rd + Lamar
Post Supervisor

Remote / Part-Time Contract

About Us

3rd + Lamar is a strategic video partner to high-growth tech companies. We offer video production, editing, and strategy to help our clients launch, grow, and exit successfully.

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Post Supervisor to own our post-production workflow from pre-production planning through final delivery.

This is primarily a supervisory role, not an editing position. You’ll manage editors, schedules, budgets, feedback, quality control, and delivery across multiple projects simultaneously. However, you should be an experienced editor who is comfortable getting hands-on when needed to solve a problem, improve a cut, or get a project across the finish line.
You’ll report directly to our Executive Producer/Director and serve as the primary owner of projects once they enter post.

What You Will Do

Post-Production Management
  • Own post-production across approximately 3-8 projects at a time, from planning through final delivery.
  • Build and manage post schedules, milestones, assignments, review cycles, and delivery deadlines.
  • Assign work across internal and freelance editors based on availability, strengths, project needs, and budget.
  • Manage editors and provide clear, actionable feedback on cuts.
  • Source licensed music tracks to give editors a clear sonic direction and accelerate the editing process.
  • Consolidate internal and client feedback into clear direction for the post team.
  • Maintain visibility into project status and proactively identify risks before they affect delivery.
  • Keep projects moving without requiring constant oversight from the Executive Producer.
Quality Control & Delivery
  • Personally review every client-facing deliverable before it leaves our team.
  • Ensure edits meet creative expectations, client brand guidelines, technical specifications, and delivery requirements.
  • Maintain a high standard for storytelling, pacing, graphics, color, sound, captions, formatting, and overall polish.
  • Oversee versioning and delivery across different platforms, aspect ratios, codecs, and specifications.
  • Maintain clean, organized media, project files, deliverables, and archives.
Workflow & Technical Oversight
  • Own and continuously improve post-production workflows across Notion, Frame.io, and Google Drive.
  • Establish clear standards for project setup, file organization, naming conventions, review, version control, delivery, and archival.
  • Oversee proxy, transcoding, color, audio, graphics, captioning, and finishing workflows.
  • Troubleshoot technical or workflow issues and step into the edit when necessary.
  • Help establish scalable systems that make the post team faster, more consistent, and easier to manage.
Pre-Production & Project Planning
  • Participate in pre-production as needed to identify post-production requirements before filming begins.
  • Review scopes, creative plans, deliverable lists, schedules, and technical requirements to ensure projects are set up for success in post.
  • Flag potential workflow, budget, scheduling, or technical challenges before production.
  • Proactively source and curate video references across platforms (YouTube, Vimeo, Instagram, etc.) to maintain and expand our “video references guide” Google Sheet, helping clarify client vision, guide editors, and present innovative creative ideas for upsell opportunities.
Scope, Budget, Communications
  • Track post-production hours and resources against estimates and SOWs.
  • Monitor revision rounds and identify scope creep or potential overages early.
  • Communicate delivery schedules and manage expectations with clients when appropriate.
  • Receive client feedback and ensure notes are accurately translated into actionable direction for editors.
  • Escalate creative, budget, scope, or client issues to the Executive Producer when necessary.

REQUIRED Qualifications

  • Significant professional experience in video post-production, including experience supervising editors and multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong editorial judgment and the ability to evaluate storytelling, pacing, structure, sound, graphics, and overall polish.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and modern professional post-production workflows.
  • Strong understanding of codecs, proxies, transcoding, color workflows, audio workflows, captions, aspect ratios, exports, delivery specifications, and media management.
  • Experience managing deadlines, revision cycles, deliverables, and project resources across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to provide editors with specific, constructive, and actionable feedback.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a strong quality-control mindset.
  • Comfortable getting hands-on in an edit when necessary.
  • Strong written communication and the ability to clearly communicate schedules, expectations, and project status.
  • Highly organized, proactive, calm under pressure, and solution-oriented.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with DaVinci Resolve and After Effects.
  • Experience supervising post-production for agencies, production companies, or branded content teams.
  • Experience working with B2B, technology, or corporate clients.
  • Experience managing freelance editors and other post-production specialists.
  • Experience building or improving scalable post-production systems and SOPs.
  • Familiarity with Notion, Frame.io, and Google Drive-based production workflows.
  • Understanding of production workflows beyond post and the ability to identify decisions during pre-production or production that will affect post.

SUCCESS IN THIS Role Looks Like

Projects are delivered on time, on budget, technically correct, and at a consistently high creative standard.

Editors know exactly what is expected of them, clients know when to expect their work, and problems are identified and addressed before they become emergencies.

The video references library is actively utilized to align clients with unclear visions, provide crystal-clear direction for editors, and surface creative upsell opportunities that enhance client campaigns.

Most importantly, the post-production department operates with enough ownership and visibility that the Executive Producer does not need to personally manage every edit, deadline, revision, or delivery.
