Case Study: Growing Authority With A LinkedIn Video Series

3rd + Lamar

We’ve shared how video is now the primary way that businesses connect, persuade, and grow on LinkedIn, with 20x more engagement than any other form of content on the platform.

Below we explain how we’ve worked with a tech-focused PR agency to help them expand their reach and build authority on LinkedIn with a recurring video series.

Background

Kickstand is a leading tech-focused public relations firm with team members in Austin, Boston, and the U.K.

Since 2013, they’ve partnered with global brands such as Indeed, Adlucent, ShipStation, and many others on projects ranging from PR, media training, research, and more.

Challenge

It’s important for Kickstand to grow its authority and share insights with various audiences on LinkedIn, but they want to expand beyond images, documents, and text posts.

There’s increasing competition for impressions and reach on LinkedIn, and Kickstand envisioned a weekly video series that could cut through the noise with relevant, timely insights delivered in a format that is engaging and easily digestible.

They approached 3rd + Lamar to help bring this concept to life.

Solution

We began by producing a custom animated bumper for the series, which we used in the intro and outro to help brand the content. We emphasized a sleek, modern, and sophisticated design for the bumper.

Working with Kickstand head of research Nycole Walsh, we developed a creative workflow to turn around the content in 24 hours from recording to final delivery, which is critical to ensure that the videos remain timely.

Results

The Media Minute, presented by Kickstand, debuted in early September.

In each 1-2 minute episode, Walsh and a colleague review current events impacting the technology sector and translate these headlines into pitch recommendations for news coverage.

Every episode has generated double-digit engagement on Kickstand’s LinkedIn account, and the series has outperformed prior videos that Kickstand has published. Also, Walsh plans to distribute future episodes on Kickstand’s YouTube channel for additional reach.

We’re really happy with how the series has turned out, and working with a trusted partner like 3rd + Lamar has made the process feel seamless. We’ve really benefited from their speed and attention to detail.
